Dos and Don’ts for Using a Candela Light at Home
If it’s your first time to use a candela light, here are a few tips to keep in mind.
Tip #1 Always use a surge-protected outlet or power strip.
Without surge protection, any fluctuation or problems with your household’s electrical system could cause damage to the candela light while it’s recharging. Always play it safe and use surge-protected outlets. If necessary, have an electrician assess your household’s electrical system to ensure that all outlets are outfitted properly for safe use.
Tip #2 Know its voltage.
All candela lights will include labels indicating their required voltage. Plug accordingly. Avoid using transformers and adapters unless you’re absolutely sure you have to.
Tip #3 Initial charge should not be less than fourteen hours.
Keep in mind that the operative word here is “initial”, which means you have to ensure that your candela light is charging for at least fourteen hours. After that you’ll only have to repeat this every other month to maximize your light’s battery life.
Tip #4 Drain batteries every other month.
Again, this tip is to help maximize the battery life of candela lights. This shouldn’t be surprising or particularly difficult as most battery-operated devices do require this procedure as a part of maintenance and battery power maximization.
Batteries of a candela light typically run out of power after eight hours. Remember this so you could time your use accordingly and be able to charge it in time.
Tip #5 Please keep candela lights out of reach of children below six years of age.
Granted, a candela light is certainly safer to hold or operate for a child compared to candles or lanterns. But it’s better to play it safe, don’t you think? If you are using a candela light in a toddler’s room, it’s best to have it wall-mounted at an appropriate height.
Tip #6 Assess its condition prior to use.
Always check the cords for any cuts or damage. Be sure to do the same with the charging unit of the candela light as well. If you notice anything wrong, take it to the nearest authorized service center for assessment.
Tip #7 Take note of temperature.
If the temperature in the room is not within the range of 32 to 113 Fahrenheit, your candela light would not work.
Tip #8 Please avoid placing credit cards or any objects with magnetic strips and similar devices or applications near the charging unit.
This could cause your candela light to malfunction and if so, any resulting damage may not be covered by your warranty.

I have a 4-set of Candela lanterns. They require the 4pack AA 1000mAh Ni-Cd 4.8V battery replacement. Where can i get the replacement batteries?
The website printed inside the light (vessel-store.com) is no longer valid. Help. I’ve spent a good amount of money on this and simply want replacement parts.
Thank you.
We recently put in new floors in one of our rooms and removed the two candela units we had for several days. When plugged back in only one of the 6 units worked. Tried to charge them to no avail. They are about 3-4 years old and presume they have reached their life expectancy.
No response required – just sending for info.
I purchased these two years ago to use in ceramic jack o laterns (used for a period of one month) once a year. I keep them in the original packaging they came in. I store them in a closet. I retrieved them the other day left them in the charger for 24 hours and they are not working. Please advise any recourse as they were not inexpensive. Thank you.
